without question, fall is such a fabulously gorgeous time of year. lovely decorations get unpacked & crafted for the impending holidays
the toasty, cozy vibe warms the heart & mind, & nostalgic feelings are shared as everyone is pumpkin patching, carving and the like.
that being said, allow me to break a couple of classic fall decor rules in order to create this alternate, sophisticated palette full of dusty muted shades and brass tones.
not nearly as traditional, but perfect for the hostess that seeks the unconventional. although not typical, this lovely color theme still perfectly exhibits the essence of fall for all your halloween & thanksgiving gatherings.
tips & tricks
instead of bright orange choose muted corals and persimmon colored elements
instead of burlap or woven baskets for “anchoring” touches, try bronze or brass vintage elements
instead of corn stalks and wheat, give eucalyptus (silver dollar or lady finger) a try, olive tree branches, or even some lovely dusty miller touches
instead of black (per halloween) or traditional chocolate browns, beautiful shades that pair sublimely with corals/oranges are light slate blue & smokey cobalt
lastly, when patching for pumpkins, look for the fancy ” cinderella” pumpkins with faded peach & slate tones
a perfectly unique kind of beautiful this fall!
happy decorating & happy october!
